TRAINING:  Life long mixed martial artist, Dr. Mick Leone trains at Fabio Santos' Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy.  He also teaches senior kenpo black belts at San Diego American Kenpo Karate school, (head black belt instructor Todd McElhinney).  In addition Mick does some mixed training and cross fit training at Throwdown Elite on Midway Drive in San Diego and also likes Primal Training Center in Mira Mesa (head black belt instructor D. Davis).

He is currently the team chiropractor for the fighters at each of the above centers, as well as other centers in San Diego.  This includes the trainers and fighters atThrowdown Elite.  Fighters here include Dean "the boogy man" Lister, Greg McIntire. Other fighters he has worked with include big name fighter, Brandon "the truth" Vera. Brandon who has opened his own training center down in the south bay area and we wish him the very best of luck.

Chiropractic Care is For Athletes of all levels!

The performance of the body during athletics is more dependent on the spine than any other part of the skeletal system. While throwing, punching, jumping, running, swimming or kicking, for example, the arms or legs utilize the spine as their base. Muscle contraction and flexibility and joint mobility are essential for optimum performance. Spinal integrity is necessary for this to happen properly.

The mechanical problems of the spine are very common at all ages.  Injuries and problems with performance that athletes of all ages experience may be directly related to poor spinal function.  Chiropractic helps resolve these issues.

Most elite athletes use chiropractic care to optimize performance and to maximize injury recovery.  It is safe to say that most, if not all professional sports teams have their own personal chiropractors for exactly these reasons.

Dr. Muscle is a life long martial artist and is setting up this additional page for interesting articles about brazilian ju-jitsu and mixed martial arts training etc. The above picture is taken from a seminar/promotion  in which Fabio Santos was presented with a red belt.  This is very rare in the Brazilian ju-jitsu world. Also above is a very rare look at most of the "original crew" from the academy.

This picture taken in Kenpo garb with Dr. Muscle's Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor, professor Fabio Santos and at the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy in San Diego. Together, Grand Master Mick and Grand Master Fabio have about 80 years of combined martial experience.  WOAH!!

The picture to the left shows Hoyler Gracie, Fabio Santos and Dr. Mick Leone (as a purple belt) after a seminar by Hoyler.

First picture left is legendary Gracie jiu-jitsu/vale tudo undefeated champion with hundreds of victories and no defeats, Rickson Gracie with Fabio Santos blue belt, Anthony Leone  (Dr. Muscle's son) at a tournament in Carlsbad, CAlifornia.

Second picture left to right is Anthony Leone, Alex Brandao, champion competitor, black belt instructor, Fabio Santos and Dr. Leone.

Third picture is Alex Brandao in the process of eliminating an opponent with a clock choke.  Alex won the match and championship.

Forth picture is Dean Lister and Dr. M.  Dean still has a very good career ahead of him. He continues to contract for new fight venues and should be defended his world absolute submission grappling title again very soon.  Dean, along with Dr. Muscle, endorse a fantastic product for all, but especially contact athletes.  The product is from Sierra Life Sciences called Alph-Flex. This is for the muscles and joints and works great!!  Click on the following link for more impressive information. http://www.alphaflex.com/drmuscle
